Who to claim a merchandise lost in maritime transport
If the merchandise has been sent in maritime groupage, it must be claimed from the consolidator at origin.

On the other hand, if it has been loaded in a full container, it must be claimed from the shipping company at origin.

For the claim, the commercial invoice with the value of the merchandise will be requested.

If merchandise insurance has been issued, you can also claim from the insurer by providing the same document.

In the case in which the reservation is made by a freight forwarding company, they must be the ones who process the claim with the consolidator or shipping company.
