What is SOIVRE?
SOIVRE stands for Official Export Inspection, Surveillance and Regulation Service and reports to the Spanish Ministry of Industry, Trade and Tourism. It is responsible for controlling and inspecting certain goods in foreign trade (imports and exports) to ensure that they comply with Spanish and European Union regulations.
It is used to Verify the conformity of industrial products.
Check that products subject to control comply with safety regulations, CE marking and mandatory labelling.
Control commercial quality, especially in products such as textiles and clothing, footwear, toys and industrial consumer products.
Without SOIVRE approval, certain products cannot be cleared through customs, imported or exported.
The aim is to protect consumers and the market. It prevents the entry or exit of products that are unsafe, defective or do not comply with current legislation. It is normally mandatory to go through SOIVRE when importing industrial products from outside the EU, exporting products subject to specific controls and/or when the goods are included in the TARIC codes subject to SOIVRE inspection.
