Understanding Freight Shipping Services: Everything You Need to Know
When a company needs to organize an export or an import they can choose between sea shipment, air shipment or land if is in Europe.

Depending on the cargo type and urgency client can choose between sea or air if it is outside Europe.

By sea can be in a container, roro, lcl or project and by air partial load or full load.

Not all the commodities can be shipped by LCL, for example reefer, will go by 20 reefer or 40 reefer since there is no LCL reefer or veryfew. Clients have to check the options before making the agreement with the consignee.

By Land in Europe can be full load FTL or less than a trailer road or groupe, with or without temperature controlled, dedicated o non dedicated and of course, dangerous, not dangerous, pharma... and so on.

When a company requests a price for shipping they have to inform to the logistics partner origin, destination, incoterm, commodity type, transport required, if there is a dead line and any additional information they have such as invoice and packing list.

For full containers shippers needs to advise container type, or in RORO vehicle measures /machine measures, same will apply for projects or Out of gauge shipments.

By air and less than a container load it is needed to know total pieces, measures and kg.

Same will apply for less than a trailer load, since rate will be per c/w or volumme not for full trailer or full container.

It is important to know maximum height in the planes, trucks and containers/roro/projects...

Also cargo can be stackable or not.

There are many things to consider when you ship a cargo.
