When the exporter or importer does not have enough merchandise to fill the entire container and the shipment is made by sea, the type of shipment is used.
Multiple importers and exportes have similar needs for small shipments, the possibility of consolidating into a shared containers is offered. The cost is borne by clients according to the amount of space the occupy in the container.
The shipment is managed throught a consolidating company and not directly with a shipping company, as it happens in the FCL.
