Free days at Spanish airports for both import and export.
Last year, there were three free days for general cargo exports and imports at Spanish airports.
This year, however, there has been a change.
Now there are two free days for both exports and imports of general cargo at all airports. For cargo requiring temperature control, there is one free day. There are no free days for hazardous cargo.
Therefore, this means that cargo must be cleared both upon departure and arrival during these days; otherwise, the handling invoice will be due from the first day. To avoid additional costs, export cargo should arrive the day before the flight's departure, and import cargo should avoid arriving on Fridays or weekends. For both export and import clearance, an invoice, packing list, air waybill, and bill of lading are required.
Additional documents may be required depending on the tariff classification.
For any shipment, it is important to consider the arrival time at both the origin and destination airports to avoid storage at the terminal once the duty-free period has expired.
Both the departure and arrival dates are taken into account.
